Our Story
In 1999, I met and flew to Cape Town, South Africa to meet the future love of my life, Vanessa.
With a great deal of ignorance about my own inner health, I chose Vanessa (and she chose me) and in December of 1999 we married.
Fast forward 11 years and many challenging arguments, fights, and difficulties later, I went back to school to obtain a degree in Psychology. Vanessa had also gone back to school to pursue a master's degree in counseling.
At the same time we started supporting people going through divorce through our church and the DivorceCare program, which we led for 8 years. We also went through our own journey of individual and marriage counseling. In 2013 we joined the American Association of Christian Counselors and began attending conferences, workshops, and webinars. We also began taking courses and trainings in the Gottman Method.
In 2016, we started walking with couples through our church using a wide variety of resources - John Gottman, Sue Johnson, Curt Thompson, Emerson Eggerichs, Gary Chapman, and many others - to coach and encourage them on their marriage journey.
Eight years later, in 2024, we are now at a place where we are ready both personally and professionally to launch our coaching business. 25 years into our marriage, we are ready to coach and walk with couples in a professional capacity.
The marriage journey is an adventure, and one must be brave and courageous to tackle such an endeavor. In our opinion there is no more challenging task than that of merging two people into the institution of marriage and achieving joy and success.
